Adobe Illustrator CS5/6 For Digital Fabrication and Prototyping is for new or inexperienced users to assist with the basics of vector creation and manipulation. The course will go from graphic design, to applications in the printing and manufacturing industries. We will go through each tool and function in an easy-going, relaxed environment.
Week 1: An introduction to digital prototyping & Laser-cutting, its possibilities and what will be covered; a run-through of different examples to see the process involved.
Week 2: More complex drawings: learn to create precise/scaled drawings, Trace bitmap/jpeg images, draw freehand or with the pen tool; Stroke, Fill; use Compound paths, Clipping Masks and the Pathfinder; Brushstrokes, Symbols and Typography.
By Week 4 each participant will have had the chance to create their own project - which could be art-work, signage, board games, printed fabric, toys, models etc. as a demonstration of the skills learned.
Please note: it is a course requirement to have at least a basic level of computer skills and bring along a laptop and mouse, able to connect to WiFi, and run Adobe Illustrator CS6
