Fab Lab Limerick would like to invite people from all disciplines to take part in a course to learn Solidworks in conjunction with the digital fabrication facilities at Fab Lab Limerick. This is an introductory course so no previous experience on the software is required.
Solidworks is a popular 3D CAD design software, and is an excellent tool for fabricating and prototyping designs. This four week course will cover introduction to 3D CAD part design and modeling development through Solidworks, explanation of CNC routing, with particular focus on designing for furniture and fit outs.
The course includes an Introduction to the CNC router, and time for testing - designs may be completed outside of the course (subject to material and machine costs).
The cost of the full course is 60 euros for students and 100 euros for adults. Capacity of this course is 10 people and classes will be on four consecutive Tuesdays from 19:30 to 21:30.
Please note: Paticipants must obtain your own license for Solidworks, and install before the first class. Please bring your own laptop and mouse.
